1. How do I get started?
If you think and feel our program in Nepal is possibility for your travel, internships or study-abroad, then fill out the Enrolment Form which makes you focus on your goals and preferences and which allows us to get know you better so that we may provide best advice and solutions for your venture abroad.
We will shift through your goals, aspirations and expectations to close on a final thought. We hope to resolve all issues regarding your expectations, possibilities and local circumstances through consultations. We will take into consideration issues such as focus areas within your general interest, institutions and destinations in Nepal, lifestyle preferences such as living conditions and mode of travel, physical and mental capacity, length and time period preferences, availability of funds.
We will finalize on a fixed program with all the logistical, travel and costing details, all clarified and documented in Program Appendix. You will be required to fill in the Application Form and email us the signed copy along with the Program Appendix. Subsequently, you will be required to use the Online Payment Form to transfer your payment using credit or debit cards.
2. How does it work?
Stage A: Enrolment Form – we explore your interest and options available for you through consultations.
Stage B: Application Form – finalize your program with dates and deposit of 25 percent of the program fee.
Stage C: Pre-departure Preparation – Information on Nepal and logistical details of the program 60 days program start date. Full payment 30 days before program start date. Visa application.
Stage D: Departure ticket confirmation – 3 or 4 weeks before departure
Stage E: Exit home country, entry into Nepal and Program start.
3. Is it safe in Nepal?
As of now, Nepal is as safe as you are in your home country. There is no political events or medical epidemic that could threaten your safety. Certain vaccinations are recommended before your departure to further secure your safety. Personal insurance that meet our criteria is mandatory before your arrival.
4. What happens in the case of an emergency?
Our first priority to save you and keep you safe. We will take all necessary action whether it is evacuation or hospitalization or medical treatment to ensure your safety. We will simultaneously contact your guardians and your embassy stationed in Kathmandu to update your status and seek clearance for any actions by Rajkarnicar Institute is required if necessary.
5. Are there reference to verify Rajkarnicar Institute and its programs?
Yes, there are references I your country and in Nepal for consultation and verification purposes.
6. What does the fee include?
The fee include the program fee, round-trip airfare, accommodation, program facilities and all inclusive excursion (transportation, accommodation, meals and entry fees).
7. What does the fee NOT include?
The fee does not include insurance, food and personal expenses such as mobile tops-ups, laundry, grocery, etc.
8. Is personal insurance mandatory? Any requirement in terms of coverage type and value?
Yes, it is mandatory that you have taken out a travel insurance that covers personal accident, medical emergency, emergency dental care, hospitalization, medicine, surgery, ambulance, evacuation and personal liability with a minimum limit of US $ 100,000.
9. Does flight inclusion in the cost cover any city or country of origin?
Yes, it includes any country but only major international airport hub.
10. Is my accommodation based on single occupancy or living alone?
Your accommodation is based on double occupancy, meaning you will have to share with one other intern during travel or stay in Kathmandu.
11. Is it possible to extend my stay in Nepal and change the date of my departure?
Yes, the stay must have written approval of your guardians at home and on you own personal expense, risk and liability. You have the option of one date change 30 days before departure date.
12. Do I get a certificate for the internship?
Yes, you will be given a certificate from Rajkarnicar Institute.
13. Am I eligible for college or university course credit?
You will need to find out from your own college or university but Rajkarnicar Institute shall verify and provide any documents required by your institution.
14. Are there any prospects for discounts, sponsorships, grants or financial aid for my internship from Rajkarnicar Institute, my college or my government?
There is no such provisions from Rajkarnicar Institute but you may seek such possibilities from your colleges, community or government.
15. What should I budget aside from the program fee?
You should budget about US$ 50 per week or US$ 600 for the entire 12 weeks period for grocery, local transportation, cell phone top-ups, laundry and other miscellaneous personal expenses.
16. Is the full payment required at the time of registration?
No, only 25 percent of the full fee but full payment has to be made 30 days before program start date.
17. What is the cancellation and refund policy?
You shall receive full refund except for US$ 200 administrative charge 60 days before program start date and US$ 500 administrative charge 30 days before program start date. No refund shall be awarded for any cancellation within 30 days of the program start date and after issue of your air ticket.
18. What is the appropriate VISA for Nepal?
Simply apply and receive a tourist visa for 90 days with multiple entry provision for a VISA fee of US$ 125. A valid passport and photo is the only required document. An official letter shall be sent to you if required. VISA may be obtained upon arrival but best if applied and acquired before departure. VISA may be extended for US$ 3 per day before the expiry of the existing VISA.
19. Is there a possibility to travel to other countries such as China, India or Thailand?
The internship does not allow you to leave Nepal during the internship but you may choose to travel after your internship on your own with the approval and permission of your guardians. You are able to apply for your respective visas in Kathmandu at their respective embassies.
20. What do I have to be aware of drugs in Nepal?
Rajkarnicar Institute has policy of zero tolerance on use of drugs during the internship. If any intern is caught by Rajkarnicar Institute or Nepal Police with the use, purchase or sale of drugs, the intern immediately forfeits his or her rights to the internship and will be sent home or handed over to the proper authorities for action.
